Brian, Awesome idea! Sometimes creating the content seems so overwhelming. (My husband gets the chills at the thought–of course, that’s my department.) It’s really so much easier than you’d think. And what could be easier than reading content you’d already written?

Podcasts are definitely on my to do list.

Thanks for sharing another great traffic generating idea, Anthony and Tim! (For the record, I know you keep asking us to tell you who is better looking, but I just can’t decide. You’re BOTH so ruggedly handsome. *wink*)

Yes, I think this is what now a days the customers are looking out for more videos than only text in the websites. So its really necessary that there should be podcasts which should be used in a more than only text!!

Great suggestions! I’m a huge fan of video, though podcasts are a great alternative so I can just listen while I work. If you have a ‘face for radio’ like you said, podcasts are a good choice…or of course, a good makeup artist .

If you are currently blogging, consider simply reading your blog into a microphone to get your podcast started. Here are some examples from my Web site: http://budurl.com/audioposts

I use an inexpensive headset ($30) and free audio software called Audacity. Consider throwing a blanket over your head when you record to eliminate subtle room echoes.

iTunes and Liberated Syndication are not similar services, as stated in the post. At its core LibSyn hosts and serves media files. iTunes has a directory of podcasts, but they neither host/serve files nor create/manage the RSS feeds. As far as I know LibSyn does not have a serious podcast search directory, other than for those podcasts being hosted on its servers.

Hope that clears up the differences between the two. I use LibSyn for all my hosting of podcast and media files, and I submit my podcasts RSS feeds to iTunes for inclusion in their directory. Both are essential to my podcasting and media marketing strategy.

Besides the lesson to get going in podcasting there’s a whole lesson in looking at the tags you used for the post!

I’d like some advice on practical stuff – like which microphone, audio settings – coz most of us have PCs and any software we’d need too.
