It’s been a while since I last posted on the blog, so thought I would do just that right now!

Lots of interesting things happening here….

I had a few interesting emails lately from people asking if we are going to focus more on web traffic, and it made me realize that perhaps we have not been as clear as we would like as to what we are all about.

The focus of our website has talked about dominating Google, in other words getting to page one of the Google search engine result pages. We made an assumption (yes I know bad thing to do) that people would realize that a direct result of this would be a heap of targeted visitors to your website.

When I read those emails both Anthony & I  were at fault for not making this clearer.

It does, of course mean you need to target the right keywords. If you choose a keyword like “kalamagoo boots for protection” (don’t you love how my mind dreams these things up?) then yes you would likely get to page one, but you would not get any traffic (or not much) because presumably no one would be searching for that term.

So assuming you get your choice of keyword correct (i.e. lots of people are using the keyword) then getting to page one will get you lots of traffic. Of course there are other techniques as well (using forums, etc) to drive traffic.

If you look at our website, we have managed to hit an Alexa ranking of around 100,000 in just three short months. This is proof that our strategies bring lots of traffic.

According to Alexa we are among the top 100,000 (rounded) websites in terms of web traffic on the internet.

Whilst we would agree that the Alexa ranking of websites may be a bit of a skewed tool in relation to measuring web traffic directly,  it certainly gives a strong indication  of the visitors and page views of a website.

I was speaking with Anthony the other day, and he mentioned that while this RSS aggregator stuff I have talked about on the blog is great, and seems powerful, it’s probably  a little too hard for some people to figure out how to use easily, when you’re not a geek.  He wanted to know specifically how  he can use it, without having to do too much work!

Because I’m a programmer, he gave me a challenge to write a simple application that would benefit him by not having to do much in the way or work (I figure he wants to spend more time rocking with his buddies).

So I thought about it for a while, and then came up with an idea, what about a Wordpress plugin, that would submit the RSS feed of the current post, every time you post to your blog.

After all lots of people have their own blogs, and if I could make it automatic; that could be powerful stuff.

In other words, once the plugin had been installed, and the initial setup was complete, all the blogger had to do to take advantage of the power of RSS would be to click Publish on their blog post.

In other words they had to do nothing out of the ordinary at all.

No submitting to different websites, no finding feeds, that type of stuff.

So that’s what I did!    I went away and developed an RSS plugin for wordpress that does just that.

That’s the Web Traffic Genius software and it has proved to be an incredibly powerful and successful program for rapidly  building targeted web traffic.

In our experience, very very few Internet Marketers make use of RSS.  For catching up on news, and the latest in blog posts, sure many marketers know about it for that, but I’m talking about using RSS to assist with rankings in the search engines, and quality backlinks to your site.

There are a number of free websites that let you harness the power of RSS in this manner, and once such site is friendfeed.com.

This video shows you how to use friendfeed and built quality backlinks.  It should be noted that your friendfeed.com page will likely rank very well on it’s own accord as well.

We’ve had an increasing number of people contact us to say how interested they have found the Mind Movies web 2.0 case study and the amazing page one Google results we managed for a small investment of time.

During the 6 video’s we have released (free for email subscribers, read this post for our reasons for doing this) we have been shown the results of putting one of our plans into action.  If you have been paying attention (and managed to stay awake during the video’s) you would have an idea of how it works by looking at the various links, etc.

We actually have a number of plans along the same theme, for example some direct all links direct to a domain, others promote indirectly on other websites, etc.

Anyway, you’ve told us you want more details, and it’s arrived  guys.

Over the next few days, we’re going to release a video on the blog showing aspects of how you can do this yourself.  You’ll be able to follow it step by step and start doing this yourself.

As has been  mentioned elsewhere and in the free report for email subscribers, you should never do the same thing each time in web 2.0 development, as this leaves “footprints” which can be followed by the search engines and of course by your competition.

You don’t want your competitors figuring out your strategy, do you?  The way to ensure they don’t is to never do the same thing each time.
For example whenever we go into a new niche, we never have a detailed plan of how to attack it until we start.  We approach it in a random fashion with no real preconceived thoughts in detail of how we are going to go about it.

Of course we have general guidelines on what has to be done, and  our proven and tested  formula that we follow, but nothing too concrete.  This is going to be the mindset you will have to start adopting.

Unlike traditional SEO, where in many cases the steps involved are set in concrete and should be followed religiously, in this game, NOTHING is set in concrete.

You play it as it comes.  This is your way of staying ahead of the pack.

But don’t worry we’ll explain how to get your head around this in the video’s.

We’ll only be releasing some of the content on the blog though, the full content will only be available to email subscribers (click the link in the top left corner to join).

Again read this post to understand our reasonings.  We don’t want all this information indexed so everyone can try it out.  These types of things tend to lose effectiveness if everyone uses them.

To be perfectly blunt, I was reluctant to release any of the RSS information for example on the blog where it can be seen by everyone.  My Guitar Freak brother persuaded me, but I’ve had the last laugh.  You won’t get my killer video’s on Yahoo Pipes unless you subscribe.  Sorry guys, but when you have a killer technique that works so well you not going to risk it are you?

Anyway we hope we can reach a happy medium between giving more information to subscribers versus what’s generally available on the blog.

Long story short:  Expect some video’s showing  some of HOW to start implementing this stuff to appear on this blog in the coming days.  Subscribe to get the meatier stuff.

Very few Internet Marketers seem to use RSS, or if they do, it’s not to dominate the front page of Google. It’s to monitor news and events, etc. Nothing wrong with doing that, but why not also use it to help dominate the search engines?

Seeing as though that is what we are all about (dominating the search engines), I felt it was time to fill you in on just how easy it can be.

Try this strategy yourself, and watch how quickly you will get a quality backlink to your website, and then how well it ranks in the search engines.

When I first showed my brother Anthony this, it actually got him to put down his guitar for a while!!
Our video (the top one) makes mention of a YouTube video that teaches the basics about RSS (Really Simple Syndication).

Think of RSS as for web pages what syndication is for successful TV shows. For example Seinfeld got syndicated all over the world to numerous TV channels. RSS can be used to do the same for your webpages.

The YouTube video gives you a base overview of RSS, but note that is not from an Internet Marketers perspective.

You can tell the YouTube video below is not ours (because you can probably understand the accent, it’s not an Aussie accent like mine!).

Anyway, the perspective in that video is from the consumer point of view, and that is how 99% of Internet Marketers in my experience see RSS.

And they miss out on the power of using it as a result!

That’s all set to change now, because you will see just what RSS can do for you and your promotions.

Prepare to have an eye opening experience watching it today (well you’re eyes should already have been opened, I’m not that boring am I?)
