Hi,

Tim & Anthony here. We thought we would have a chat today about blogging and look at some of the finer details.

Blogging can be a fantastic way to get more traffic charging full speed to your website plus it’s ideal for sharing information (like we are doing with you right now

The good news is that setting up a Blog for your website is surprisingly easy these days but there are a few caveats and things you need to change to ensure your blog is setup correctly to get maximum exposure in the search engines.

But don’t let the ease of set up fool you. There are some things you need to get right!

Before we start getting into the do’s and don’ts of Blogs, let’s actually define what a Blog is.

A Blog can be thought of as a simple, public online diary where you can write entries (posts) into the diary.

Being public, the posts can be viewed by anyone who happens to surf by your site, and hopefully you have lots and lots of people reading every post you make, and contributing to your Blog in the form of adding comments, looking at relevant links you add to your blog, watching audio and video, and hopefully linking to your blog from their websites.

What is particularly attractive about Blogs, is that the entire process of Blogging is very simple to do, mainly due to the great quality of Blog software available that you can install on your website.

Decent Blogging software provides all the functionality you need, the management of posts by yourself (and others), the categorization of posts (something that is essential) and even the process of telling other blogging websites every time you make a new post.

Automatically telling other sites about your posts is a huge plus since it’s getting your blog out there, and of course your comments and information, thus putting your content in front of many people, many who may not have been aware previously of your website.

Now one of the most important things to ensure is that you don’t just use the Blog as a sales page (we generally recommend you leave the selling of your products and services to your actual sales page on your website).

Obviously you will want to talk about your products and services, and the benefits visitors will get in using them, but we believe it’s important not to have an all out sales pitch, as that will tend to turn off visitors who may be seeing your message for the first time.

We also recommend you talk about non-business stuff, information about you, the person, some of your interests, things you have found of interest on the Internet, etc.

Getting to know the real you.

When people read these personal posts, they get to know the real you, and form a relationship with a “real person” and not a nameless website, and this can only assist you in future sales with these people.

A Blog also allows (and in fact encourages) participation by visitors, who can post responses to your entries, and this is often a great way to stimulate interesting conversations.

Good Blogging software will allow you to remove spam responses (where visitors or programs “write” messages directing people to their site) as well as to moderate conversations that are in appropriate or off-topic.

One of the best reasons to use Blogs is to help you rank highly in the search engines.

The search engines love Blogs, provided they are providing relevant and quality content.

To give you an idea of how important search engines see Blogs, Google bought one of the largest Blogging sites out there (blogger.com). Having a focused relevant site with interesting and useful content can only help you in your journey to find true search engine love.

Provide decent content

We are always preaching about providing relevant content. It’s no different with Blogs, you need to ensure all content is relevant, and ensure your separate your posts into logical categories.

For example if you have a website about software development, you may make posts discussing programming generally, other posts about training for software developers, and more posts about a specific computer language like Java.

It’s vitally important that you don’t just lump all posts together for a number of reasons.

Firstly, people coming to your Blog may have a specific interest in some of your posts (training for example) and may find it hard and frustrating to easily find all posts you have written on training if you have not clearly defined categories (and allowed posts to be searched/sorted by these categories).

Likewise the search engines may view your Blog as less relevant if you lump all your posts together than another Blog elsewhere that has posts clearly defined in categories.

Search engines very much prefer categorization of information and reward websites that categorize correctly with high search engine rankings.

Luckily being able to put your posts in specific categories is quite easy. Literally at the press of a button you can assign posts to one (or more) categories making it simple for your readers and search engines to find posts of related category/subject quick and easily on your Blog.

The most popular open source blogging package is Wordpress.

http://wordpress.org/

This is a free blogging package (yep nothing to pay!), and is extremely flexible and easy to use without sacrificing anything in power and flexibility.

We use this package and recommend you do as well.

We have built some fully SEO optimized WordPress blogs that you get for free as part of our FREE 12 days to Page One on Google e-course.

Because of its popularity, many Web host’s have made installation of WordPress very easy for you with “one-click” installs.

Hopefully your web host will have it available. Many web hosts use a package called Fantastico.

This package is designed to automate installation of popular software onto your website, and many webhosts use this package. Many web hosts have it installed which makes installation of Wordpress as easy as one-two-three!

Once Wordpress is installed you have the option of changing themes, and personalising the blog.

It’s very important that you do the customizations as listed below.

In it’s default state WordPress is not very “search engine” friendly, so I suggest you investigate making Wordpress friendlier for the search engines.

It is getting better now and the latest version of Wordpress 2.7 is more SEO friendly.

You can take Wordpress to the next step by using a website like

http://www.wordpressdirect.com (automates installations, and auto generating content).

And ..

http://www.semiologic.com

Which is really Wordpress on steroids!

Both are not free, but are worth checking out.
We will discuss these in a later post.

Once you have made the base changes, you need to add categories for your posts to organize your posts (very important).

The other thing you will want to do is change the contents on the sidebar (right hand side of the blog).

Ask for the optin

One of the things we recommend you do is have an “opt-in” (for eg on the right or left hand side of the screen) so people can subscribe to your mailing list there.

You will notice that we have implemented our Blog example below in the subdirectory and not in the root.

http://yourwebsite.com/blog

At the top of our blog at http://www.takeoverpageone.com/blog, you will see a logo & header, to the top left an offer of a free course, and below that links to our major categories (enabling the visitor or the search engines) to see all posts on a related category and then archives of previous months posts.

There is another optin on the front page.

We actually have some content “hidden” for subscribers.

You can see there is nothing particularly fancy here, and probably 90% of what you see came out of the box with Wordpress, but with the few customisations we have made, the Blog is very useable.

Great, at this point, you now need some content, after all no one is going to be interested in your Blog if it’s empty, right?

So what should you write about in your Blog? Good question!

We will cover that in a future post in detail as this is very important.

Cheers for now.

Anthony Buchalka here.

Tim, my geeky brother, is off putting the finishing touches to the latest Web Traffic Genius Wordpress software upgrade and I thought I should take the opportunity to answer a common question we get.

I have a short video for you today that addresses a question we have heard from quite a number of people recently.

The several dozen similar questions we receive regularly on this topic, basically asked about how technical or ‘geeky’ you need to be to use the SEO and web 2.0 web traffic and conversion system we created, and whether we will be teaching the basics as well or just the advanced web 2.0 strategies.

In the short video below, I walk you though the answer explaining the approach we have taken for the New Web Traffic & Marketing Blueprint. In a nutshell, you will NOT need to be a techie type person to implement our system.

Please note the video quality can be improved in two ways.

To play the video in high definition in a new window (click the link directly below the video).

NB. We suggest the high definition option as it gives you a much better video quality.

Hi everyone,

Tim here with an exciting announcement for you

Well we think it’s exciting, hope you guys do as well!

As you probably know from reading some of our other posts, we have been creating and testing our system for rapidly getting keywords to page one in Google for around a year now. We have perfected a series of systems that we have called “The New Web Traffic & Marketing Blueprint”.

We have found our system to work in almost every niche we have tried and we are mostly seeing keywords start to hit page within a few days and many within around the 24 hour mark. Of course not all do so as quick as that, but in all cases the keywords targeted made massive and dramatic improvement in their Google listings.
We have had several people also testing various parts of the system and the feedback has been resoundingly positive.

Guys this stuff really works and as yet, 99.9% of online marketers know very little about it!

We think the main reason for that is probably twofold; firstly, there is a lot of information out there that is either very poor quality or at worst, frankly wrong. Secondly, no one has yet managed to design a system that can be easily taught and applied to a wide variety of niches.

There is no point in you following a system that you don’t understand. If you blindly follow a solution that you don’t understand, then the next time Google changes the game (and they have a habit of doing this often) you will be dead in the water and have no idea what to do next.

If you truly understand how the process works, you can adapt to these changes, and stay in the game, and indeed dominate.

I’ve often said to my brother Anthony that dominating page one in Google using our system is easy (and I have proven that time and time again), the real challenge has been designing a system or blueprint that “non geeks” also find easy to get rapid results with.

This is part of the reason we have taken so long to perfect our system.

Anthony has always been very adamant that the non technical minded people like him, need to be able to have a step by step process that they can easily follow. This has become one of our most important product design goals ie the system has to be “Anthony proof” ie if a non geek guitar crazy ex Army guy can use the system, then it’s ready to let loose on you guys.

So you guys really have a lot to thank Anthony for, without his constant drive to get this right (and quite frankly his nagging!) we would still have a system only for geeks to use and understand.

But now we have a system that anyone can follow step by step, but more importantly understand!

A number of people have gleaned some information from the mind movies case study video’s that we have shown you, but what you haven’t got is the complete understanding of the process and why it works.

Not to mention that the mind movies promotion was a quick promotion we put together that only used one of a number of strategies we are going to reveal to you.

Here’s a recap of that promotion case study.

We got a brand new domain to page 1 in 28 hours! That same domain is still sitting on page 1 for the majority of keywords we targeted. The domain is less than 2 months old and already has multiple page rank 4 pages and some page rank 3’s. This occurred after 22 days! We dominated the keywords we chose, we continue to dominate now.

Our strategies get you to page one and keep you there. We have done no promotional work for mind movies and still continue to rank on page one for most keywords.

And unlike some of the other packages out there, this was a serious niche with serious competition. I mean one of the keywords has competition of some 89,000,000 yes thats millions. And we are still on page one!

I’ve got nothing against other marketers but you need to show your packages work in high competition keywords as well as the long tails with little to no competition.

To be able to achieve this has required some pretty unique thinking and “out there” strategies. About the worst thing we could do is sign up thousands of people and give them full access to the “vault”.

We both feel the best solution is to offer a blueprint of our system in a series of videos, ebooks and audios PLUS a weekly webinar where we get the chance to answer your questions personally.

These weekly get togethers will cover a different module of our system to ensure you fully understand that part before moving on to the next.

So you get grounded in the basics and each week move onto the next step, all the while applying the information into your niche.

Get ready to absolutely dominate the search engine results.

And don’t worry, we are going to reveal each and every strategy we have, your not going to get a bit of information here and there, we will be revealing everything!

At the risk of sounding like Internet Marketers (introducing scarcity!) we really are only able to offer limited numbers of the Page One Total Control Formula. There is a number of reasons for this.

1. Management – Weekly webinars, etc. There are only so many hours in the day, and if we don’t put a cap on numbers, we won’t be able to teach this stuff properly, you won’t get the results you want. A small, select group of people working with us makes it easy to teach and to offer personal attention for.

2. Footprints – As we have mentioned before (and those of you who have subscribed via email have seen in the mind movies promotion video’s),

Because what would happen is the sheer numbers of people doing this would suddenly start appearing on Googles radar and the results may very well change.

And this does happen.

Just Google the “squidoo slap” if you don’t believe me. Long story short. There was a way when Squidoo first came out to pretty well guarantee a page one listing for any keyword. It got abused by thousands of marketers and Google closed the loophole! Overnight the page 1 entries fell out of the search engine rankings.

A small number of people using the strategies means there is no “blip on the radar” so the rankings stay and Google (or anyone else) is none the wiser as to how we do it. It will be our little secret

We don’t what a sudden mass of new websites hitting page one overnight using our system, that is bound to make the Big G inquisitive.

Makes sense right?

We are still finalizing the package and have a number of powerful software bonuses we will be including for all those who purchase a copy.

Not some crappy, useless stuff you don’t want or need, we are talking about stuff you can’t get anywhere else. We know this for a fact because we developed all of the software ourselves!

I’m bursting to tell you more but Anthony has sworn me to secrecy.

One thing I can tell you is the RSS Backlinks Wordpress plugin is on schedule for a release by the 25th, remember this is free only for email subscribers.

Our beta testers have been absolutely blown away by the plugin and the rankings they are seeing already using it.

And you get your hands on this just by leaving your email address, what could be easier?

So in summary, on Monday 3rd November we will be releasing the “Page One Total Control Formula” that will include a series video tutorials, ebooks and audios, plus weekly webinar tutorials.

We haven’t found another web 2.0 system out there (and believe me we have tried most of them), that comes even close to what we have created.

And don’t forget anyone can do this. No geekiness required (however if you are a geek that’s ok too).

Click Here For Details of the New Web Traffic & Marketing Blueprint.

We appreciate them so keep on sending them! Helps remind us why we are doing this!

Cheers

Hi all,

Welcome to another in the series of Tim Buchalka rants!

Today’s subject? ………Twitter!

Both my brother Anthony and I have been using Twitter now for a while, and built up a respectable number of followers (I have over 5,000 followers +) and have spent some time watching how other Internet Marketers seem to be using Twitter.

Now, this article assumes you know what Twitter is, and the basics (following people, etc). If you need an Introduction leave a comment, and I’ll write an article for you showing you the basics.

Anyhow let me get to the point of this article.

I have decided to discuss what I feel are the 7 Biggest Mistakes Internet Marketers are making on Twitter.

Here we go (in no particular order)

1. Using an “auto-reply” message with an offer.

When you “follow” someone on twitter, they get a message (can be configured by email) to say you have followed them. Clever people have developed free software that can automatically react to this event, sending a pre-programmed message back, sometimes customized with the persons name, etc.

A typical example might be

“Thanks for the follow Tim, look forward to catching up with you”.

That’s nice and friendly, no problems there, but the big mistake is ones like this.

“Thats Tim, have you checked out out my ebook? http://crappyebook.com”

(That’s not a real link, just an example)

So let me get this straight? We’ve just met, and you’re trying to sell me something?

Thanks, but no thanks, “unfollow”

Lets have a bit of a discussion before the hard sell, ok?
2. Thinking you need to “try” to be a real person by sending “personal” messages.

Internet Marketers using Twitter have gotten it into their heads that they have to “mixup” their messages with a combination of personal messages and marketing messages.

I agree that they should keep it real, and if they feel like leaving a twitter on a particular subject, then do it, but don’t try and keep an “exact” ratio of messages of each type.

It’s sort of like the old keyword density debates for article marketing. e.g. mentioning the keyword in an article x times so that it does not go over a given percentage of keyword density.

But in this case its Internet Marketing Offers Density.

Some Internet Marketers who are plainly trying to sell you stuff (and nothing wrong with that) sending out 90% “personal” messages to one “offer”, but doing 50-60 messages a day!

Do they think we really want to keep up with that many messages?

I try and only post a few messages a day, when I post a new blog article, or occasionally to respond to something I think is plainly wrong (for example the other day I saw some wrong SEO information being sent over Twitter so I felt compelled to reply to it to let others know).

Just to be clear. I’m not saying to limit the number of messages, or what to talk about, but just to keep it real, and not “try” to market, just be yourself.

3. This one is close to number 2, ONLY sending Marketing Messages.

Some people seem to think it’s ok to just keep on sending affiliate offers with every single message they send.

Give it a rest guys, we are not stupid! Any in many cases, the offers are shockingly bad as well.

4. The Sneaky Offers

People asking your opinion on a product, and then sending you an affiliate link.

This one is nasty. I had some guy asking me about a particular online service (and if I used it) and the link he sent to “help” me find out about it contained an affiliate link.

Come on, you lose all credibility doing that, trying to trick people into buying stuff isn’t right, and is easy to spot.

Some of the big guys are sending people to their “recommended” services, which are just affiliate links.

Sure we all need to make money, but it would be great to say sometimes, “hey just a heads up, I do get a commission out of this, but they are good.”

We never send affiliate links over Twitter, but if we did, we would tell people it was an affiliate offer.

I would prefer to know, so I assume others would want to know as well.

People appreciate the honesty, don’t be deceptive, tell them up front.

I’ve got no problems buying on someone’s affiliate link if it’s all upfront and in the open, but do have a problem if it’s a sneaky one.

5. Getting Offended.

This is a good one, some of the pushy marketers on Twitter get on their high horse when you tell them they are too pushy.

You think your doing the right thing when you suggest to people to tone it done a bit, and they get all indignant.

If someone does tell you something like this, instead of getting defensive, maybe you should take a look and see if this is something you are doing wrong.

6. Not Admitting your wrong.

I realize Twitter is all about credibility, but let’s face it, we are all human, we don’t know everything, and we all do sometimes make mistakes.

I’ve seen people leave a comment that is completely wrong, and then when shown that it is incorrect, handball it e.g. “Don’t shoot the messenger, I got this from Mr X” or worse silence, no comment back at all.

If you’ve said something, and others prove you are wrong, it’s better to “fess up“, no one is going to think less of you for proving that indeed you are human.

Do I make mistakes?

Absolutely. Do I admit them. No, the rule doesn’t apply to me. ha ha Joking, Yes I will “fess up” and I’ll make a point of saying “Whoops there you go, my mistake, etc”.

Of course you can avoid this by double/triple checking your facts before your twitter, if it’s something you are not 100% sure about.

7. Not being true to yourself.

Pretending to be someone else, is I think the worse thing you can do on Twitter (or anywhere else).

People are pretty perceptive, and can see through a fake from a mile away, so for goodness sake be honest and be yourself.

I am a geek, but I am also a joker, and often sarcastic in a humorous way (so Anthony my brother keeps telling me). That’s just me, so I try and let that come out in any media I use (Twitter included).

Some people love it, and some people think I should be “serious” all the time. Some people hate it.

Hey you can’t please all the people all the time as they saying goes. I don’t try to.

We just keep working on providing the very best information and products we can. No more, no less.

I don’t pretend, I am just me, what you see is what you get (and don’t the girl’s love it. Sorry ladies, I’m taken).

Make sure you do the same, it will help you in the long run.

Summary.

I am far from perfect, and have been guilty of making at least some of these mistakes in the past. Twitter can be a great tool, but you need to respect the community of users, and show them the real you, and not a made up character you think they want to see.

Obviously I cannot speak on behalf of all Twitters users can I?

Ok I will, but just this once….

Twitter users most likely want to see the real you, and find out all about your hopes, dreams, goals and other gooey stuff, as well as your “offers”.

So mix it up, be yourself and enjoy!

Phew that’s my rant over for today, back to the programming (insert small plug about the free RSS backlink tool that email subscribers will be getting very soon here!).

Cheers

Hi all,

Please bear with us because your probably wondering what Myspace or Facebook has got to do with TakeOverPageOne.com, right?

Well quite a bit really, for starters they both do extremely well in the web traffic stakes, being among the top ten of most heavily trafficked websites on the Internet.

First things first, off the top of your head, which website would you think is doing better financially (read: making more money).

Myspace or Facebook ?

I’m not asking traffic numbers, I can tell you Facebook gets more traffic that MySpace. Facebook last time I checked is number 5 on the Alexa ranking, where MySpace is lagging far behind at position 7 (ok not far behind!). Facebook does get a lot more traffic.

I’m talking revenue primarily from online ad’s (both websites allow marketers to pay for ads).

You may be surprised to know that MySpace is a long way ahead of Facebook in revenues.

According to sources (don’t you just love that “sources”) Myspace is on track to turn over $1Billion in sales/year soon (it did $850M last year).

Compare this to Facebook, which is “cooler” in many people’s eyes but is way behind at only $300 million or so.

This is huge money when the primary income is from advertising on web pages, isn’t it?

And another very interesting fact for me. If you believe the numbers, forty (40) percent of mothers online in the U.S. alone use MySpace. Wow!

Jeff Berman, president, sales and marketing at MySpace.com says Myspace is going reach $1 billion in sales quicker than Yahoo or Google did!

That got our attention.

Now I’m not going to suggest you run off and join the PPC offerings of both of these social media sites (although lots of people are no doubt making gobs of money doing so).

I’m going to suggest that you have a re-think of your promotional work at both websites. Just what exactly are you doing (if anything) on these websites.

Are you actively promoting to your niches in these websites? Are you uploading video’s to these sites? Are you investigating revenue opportunities, building friends, setting up groups, blogging, etc on these websites?

If not, it’s time you did. I’ll be honest and say I have all but abandoned Myspace in the past 6-7 months, but after recently reading this, I am going to refocus my efforts on there again.

It’s time to do some testing on MySpace again. A website making that much money from people visiting has to be worthy to look into.

Click Here For Details of the Page One Total Control Formula

Unfortunately both Facebook and MySpace use nofollow tags for external links, meaning the power is in the network you build up (network of people), not the network of links.

But remember you can still build up traffic to your external websites, by building up relationships with others on the site, and then directing them to your external websites.

Take the time to setup an account at both websites if you haven’t done so already, and start building relationships. There is definitely money in there, waiting to be found!

Internet Marketers have long said the power is in the list. I’d go further and say the power is in the relationships. The social relationships you can build with people in your niche using community websites like these.

Well that’s my post for today, a bit boring and maybe not geeky enough?

To rectify that, I’ll do some geek “speak” now (as if I need an excuse to talk geeky).

Well, time to go get back into finishing off our new little RSS submitter we call RSS Power Plus. This wordpress plugin will automatically post to 5-6 RSS aggregators for you automatically, every time you publish a post in wordpress.

What do you need to do? Nothing more, it’s automatic! How cool is that (gee sometimes I impress myself).

I just fixed a heap of bugs, and am going to give this to Anthony now to test out and see what he can break.

Mind you I can’t seem to raise him on Skype (probably out playing his guitar again).

Did I tell you we live in different states? (Yes I know, relevance factor to this post: zero, sorry).

Anyway, as soon as he gives it the seal of approval (in other words I don’t need to explain anything to him to get it to work!) then I will shoot an instruction video and you will be good to go.

He’s our Guinea pig; if Anthony can install it and use it blindfolded (while playing “Back in Black” on his guitar) , then we release it! Well maybe not playing Black in Black.

I thought it was ready yesterday but he managed to crash it twice for me (my fault with the coding).

He is good tester like that, always finds errors I have never seen before! It’s works out to your advantage because it means all the bugs will be ironed out before it’s released.

The last thing Anthony asked for (“asked for” is his wording, more like “demanded” in my words) was a import/export function, so you can easily just copy the settings into another blog, so you don’t have to type in the settings.

Good for those people who have multiple blogs, and don’t like to type any more than they have to.

Ok, I am rambling again, so time to go.

Remember that only those people who are subscribed will get it for free, so if you have not done that, please do it now!

Until next time,

Cheers

Tim

Hi all,

We’ve have a couple of interesting finds in the past few days that I would like to share with you.

Firstly, I happened to see an email come in from hubpages (I use this site a lot in web 2.0 promotion, and suggest you should as well).

If you’ve used it, and signed up for their newsletter, or whatever it is, you get an email from them every now and again.

I usually delete the emails without looking, but this one caught me eye.

Your Hubs have been viewed 24,356 times.

WOW !

A website that we threw up in January of this year, and have never been back to since had received over 24,000 visitors!

In fact it turned out to be an ordeal to login again, because I have forgotten the details, and it wanted an email address to send the forgotten password to.

And in this game, you burn a heck of a lot of emails. The reason it turned out so hard for me, is that I use a “catch all” domain, so when I register at a web 2.0 site, I can put “anything I want”@nameofdomain.com and the email gets back to me.

Makes it a lot quicker to register, as there is no need to setup a new email account each time (of course it goes without saying that you don’t do it this way all the time, otherwise that’s a footprint).

Anyway, because I used the catch all address, I had to figure out the part I had registered with before the @nameofdomain.com bit. Hubpages wanted the full email address to send me the password.

Sorry..I digress.

Long story short: I eventually found the email, and managed to log into the website.

Here’s the kicker….

Since January 2008, over 24,000 visitors have reached this little hub. It’s a very very simple hub, with about 3 images, 1 video, and a 600 word article. With a couple of links to a money page.

That’s it! Oh and a place for people to leave comments.

No other monetization on the page.

Ready for the shocking confession? It turns out the links to the money pages were not really valid (they pointed to another website I no longer use).

End result: I’ve wasted 24,000 visitors who might have bought something

They had no where to go or nothing to buy from me. Ouch!

I’ve since corrected the problem, and added some adsense to it as well as a trial.

Early this morning, I woke up with a start, suddenly remembering the reason I had set this website up in the first place.

I’d set it up for Images, and specifically getting traffic from people searching for images.

A method that no one seems to use, let alone talk about.

Guess what. The strategy worked, and in fact had been working for many months.

I’d just somehow not added this hub to my excel spreadsheet containing all my websites, when it was originally setup, and because of a silly typo, was not receiving any of the 24,000 visitors hungry clicks!

Here are the incredible statistics.

65% of the traffic was from images.google.com and around 8% from other countries including images.google.ca, images.google.de, and images.google.ie, and images.google.hu !

So around 73% of 24,000 visitors (approx 17,500) made it to the page searching for images! How is that for a traffic strategy?

Of course, some of these people may have just displayed the image in the image search and not actually clicked through to the hub (this would still register as a visit) but early testing seems to indicate a decent percentage are clicking through.

Now you would think these people would not be interested in anything but images, right?

Wrong! In 24 hours, the website has made $15 in adsense.

Now $15 is nothing to write home about, but it tells me that people are finding the image and clicking through to the page, and then happily doing something on the website i.e. clicking my links.

I haven’t had the chance to check google analytics to see how many clicks to my money page have been made, but this is exciting stuff.

If I wanted to be negative about it, I would calculate that we have missed out on approximately 30 x $15 = $450 a month in adsense, or around $4K since January (ouch I guess I did just think about it, it hurts to think of it in those terms). Better not let Anthony know about that stat. Luckily he is off at band practice tonight and hopefully won’t read this post

The real interesting thing to me (and hopefully to you now) is that you can get a healthy number of visitors finding your site when searching for images.

Are you using this strategy? If not, it’s time to look into it, isn’t it?

Of course I’ll be adding this neat little trick to the quick start guide now (and also the hidden little tip on how to get the right text indexed with your image).

You want the traffic to be targeted don’t you?

And this is using hubpages, just wait till I talk to you about the flickr method for images. Pure gold.

It does not get much simpler than this though. Upload a picture, get traffic!

On the subject of hubpages, I’d also like to share this with you.

Specifically, it’s about hubpages and the nofollow tag.

Seems as though something has changed there, and now only certain hubs get dofollow tags, the rest get nofollow tags!

My testing (and asking other people about there experiences) seems to indicate that any hubs with a hub score less than 70 will get nofollow tags. If your hub score is 70 and above, you are good to go and will get dofollow tags, and enjoy the link power.

This is another reason to focus on putting up a decent quality hub and checking back from time to time to update it. May as well give them what they want.

So long as your hub score is 70 or above you are good to go. I tested this today, finding a hub on 69 and it had nofollow tags, and found a few other ones in the 70’s and 80’s and they were all dofollow, so seems to confirm it.

If you have a hub on hubpages, rush off and check it for yourself! If your hub score is less than 70, you have some work to do!

Hope this short little article has been useful to you.

Until next time,

Cheers

Tim
